Annual Eye Exams

Annual Eye exams are very important in detecting serious eye and health problems like; Glaucoma, Cataracts, Diabetes, and even High Blood Pressure! If you wear eyeglasses or contacts it is important to keep your prescription up to date; this can help keep your eye-sight healthy and prevent the risk of eye strain and headaches.

Computer Eye Strain

We all use computers on a daily basis, whether it be for work or personal use. When staring at a computer screen for extended periods of time, it can cause eye strain, and in the long-run have a negative effect on your eyes. It is important to keep these tips in mind to prevent any eye-damage.

• Taking a break every 20 minutes: Take a small break to rest your eyes, look away from the screen for about 20-30 seconds and resume back to your work! If you are on the computer for extended periods of time it is important to take a 15-20 minute break every 2 hours.

• Stay Hydrated! Hydrating your body can also help in hydrating your eyes! It is also important that you are blinking often and to make sure they are well hydrated and don’t get dry!

• Blue Light Glasses: Digital eye-strain is a huge problem with technology being the center of our everyday lives. Blue-light glasses help ease digital strain, reduced prolonged exposure to the retina, and help to block out harmful UV rays.

Protect Your Eyes From The Sun

Sunglasses are not all about looking cool and being in style. It is important to keep our eyes protected from exposure to UVA and UVB rays. Wearing sunglasses can help reduce the risk of getting cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye related diseases. Remember to wear sunglasses during any outdoor activity, driving, and when exposed to the sun for long periods of time.

Eye-Healthy Foods

It is important to incorporate healthy foods to your diet to maintain good eye-health. Foods rich in Omega 3’s, Vitamins A,B,C, and Zinc can help prove and maintain your eye health.
